Sometimes, I get the feeling that agricultural marketers are all running Leslie Knope’s campaign for city council.
We walk around listing all the things our companies are for or in favor of.
“They have to know everything we stand for!”
♻️ “We believe in sustainability!”
🧑🌾 “We’re farmer first!”
🚜 “We’re revolutionizing agriculture!”
🍗 “We’re feeding the world!”
🙋♂️”Pick us!”
We love everything that all these other companies love. But we love it more.
It's funny. Something you almost never see at shows or hear in presentations is what a company is against.
We’re for everything, and as a result, we’re for nothing.
Want to be different? Tell me what you’re against. What is standing in the way of your customers having success?
Just make sure it's something that is a real problem for your audience and that you can actually help them overcome it.
Or you can go back to the Leslie Knope strategy and continue getting ignored, just like everyone else.
